Account preferences

Choose Account Settings from your avatar menu, then Account preferences. Only the account’s Owner can change these. Everyone else sees them, greyed out. Choose Save when you’re done.

  • Language is what the account uses by default: its screens, the emails and notifications its members get, and what it sends out, such as invitations and invoices. English, French and Spanish are available. Each person can still choose their own language under Your details.
  • Region decides how numbers are written (1,234.56 or 1 234,56) and which day a week starts on.
  • Currency is the account’s own money: what its invoices, expenses and rates are in. It isn’t what the account pays Eddish, which stays in US dollars.
  • Date format is how dates are written for everyone in the account who hasn’t chosen their own, and on invoices.
  • Time format is how times of day are written for everyone in the account, in every app: 24-hour clock (14:30) or 12-hour clock (AM/PM) (2:30 PM). Until you choose, the usual clock of your region is used, so a US account reads 2:30 PM and a British or French one reads 14:30. In Invoicing it applies to the start and end times on the Time page and its grid, the timer’s “since” time, reports, and the approval reminder hour.

Choosing a new region also moves the currency, date format and time format to that region’s usual ones, unless you’d already chosen your own. When you save a new language or region, the page switches to it at once and reopens the panel, so you can see the result.
